Ibrahim to Ground Control! Hey Everyone. Did you know we make radiation hardened microchips especially for use in space? Normal microchips have become so small that they’re vulnerable to radiation, not my ones though. Scroll down for more of my story, or click below to download my colouring page.

The IBM RAD6000 is a radiation-hardened microprocessor designed for space. It is specifically engineered to withstand the harsh conditions, including exposure to ionizing radiation and extreme temperatures. It uses various techniques such as triple modular redundancy, error detection and correction codes, and has hardened memory cells to mitigate the impact of radiation on its operation. The RAD6000 has built-in memory components which store frequently accessed data and instructions for faster retrieval and execution. Running an embedded operating system specifically tailored for space applications the RAD6000 executes software programs that perform various tasks, such as controlling spacecraft subsystems, data processing, and scientific experiments. It has been used in various missions, including the Mars Exploration Rovers and the Hubble Space Telescope.
